Observing my speech – watching for words

Post written by Orsolya Hernold

There are some words we use thoughtlessly that have great influence on the conduct of our lives. I invite you to watch your words by observing your speech in the next couple of days and make notes about it. This exercise is easier and more focused if you choose one area of your life (a relationship, your work, time at home, etc.) where you observe your speech.

After you have written for some days, check whether you find these words:

Anything you say has a profound effect on how you think of yourself, regard others, how you feel and react. It is well worth observing your speech and changing it by conscious talking if you think you want to have a greater influence on your life. Try watching your speech in another situation or commit changing one commonly used word and write down your experiences with the change.
